LUNA Communicative Drawing Pad
LUNA is a product that aims to reconnect left-behind children with their parents. It is designed to reduce the awkward and non-interactive nature of phone calls and use drawing to establish a creative bridge between children and their parents.
Role Industrial Designer
Project Duration Sept 2022 - Sec 2022
Emotional Connectivity & Creative Communication Device

About the Project
China and developing countries in Southeast Asia experienced rapid urbanization, resulting in a large population of left-behind children, whose parents work away from home to provide a better living for their families. As a result of their parents' prolonged absence, the emotional needs of left-behind children are unmet, significantly impacting their physical and mental health.

Conclusion
As the designer of the LUNA project, I focused on bridging the emotional gap for left-behind children in Southeast Asia and China by transforming routine phone calls into engaging, drawing-based interactions between children and their distant parents. The project enhances emotional bonds by making communication more interactive and insightful, allowing parents to better understand their children's emotional states. Reflecting on LUNA’s impact and future potential, the design's user-centered approach and potential for technological enhancements like voice and video capabilities highlight its capacity to deepen family connections and support emotional well-being effectively.
